Pennsylvania’s Students Experiencing Homelessness Awareness Week

Student Art Contest

Theme: “Every Student Contributed to Our School Community”

Prompts to consider:

  • What ideas, talents or creativity does every student contribute?
  • How do all students help, support or make a difference in their schools and communities?
  • Why does every student’s voice, experiences or perspective matter?

Interpret the theme in your own way—it’s your vision. You do not need to include personal experiences or private information in your artwork.

Students across Pennsylvania are invited to create original artwork that shows the many ways students share their ideas, creativity,
talents, perspectives, kindness, and hopes with others.

Who Can Participate?

All students enrolled in K-12 in Pennsylvania public schools.

What Can I Create?

  • Drawings
  • Paintings
  • Collages
  • Mixed-media artwork
  • Photography
  • Digital art

Artwork should be original, created by the student artist, school-appropriate, and connected to the contest theme. Artwork may not be created or modified using generative AI.

Each of Pennsylvania’s eight Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness (ECYEH) regions will review virtual submissions from LEAs in its region. Regional offices will select winner(s) from participating LEAs within their region. Selected artwork must then be sent physically for statewide awards consideration.
